UPDATE on "Card Girl" AKA Danielle Bartlett

UPDATE: Danielle has received over 9,000 cards and counting! She has a Caring Bridge site:

She has just finished another round of chemo and it seems to be working, as her tumor has shrunk by a lot. I added a picture of her from her page, and I hope that y'all will take a few minutes to send her a card. =)

Original Message:

My mom got this from a friend at work and I thought I would post it in case anyone would like to send a card also.

"This little girl is eight years old. She has cancer. Her request from the "Make a Wish Foundation" is that she can receive at least 1,000 get well cards. Will you please help her wish come true, by sending her a get well card?"

  2. I just got this info about sending a card to a little girl. I googled her name and found this site. Before finding out the info i cried.
She could have wished a million things, but she asked for greeting cards. This touched my heart. I read the short story about her. Everyone in my house is sending a card. I am in Daytona Bch, Fl,I even called my mom in Miami, Fl, to tell her to send a card.

  4. I was visiting one of our sister churches, Bouldercrest Church of Christ in Atlanta, Georgia this past weekend when an announcement was made. It told us of a little girl that is sick and her wish. There was not a dry eye in the audience. From that point, everyone took her information to show her the love that we felt for her and her family.
Like me, others were visiting from various congregations and decided to bring it back to our home congregation. It has gotten an overwhelming response and i hope and pray that this effort brings her joy.
Danielle, you are in our prayers, hearts, and thoughts. May God be with you and your family during this time.
Much Love from the Taylor's in Orlando, Florida

  5. Both of my kids sent cards after I heard about this precious child on the Steve Harvey Morning Show. My kids were so excited to help, yet sad at the thought of another child being sick. I wish all the best to Danielle and her family.

  8. I sent my card too. My 4 year old son and my niece did also. I posted signs at my job to have people here send them to Daniell also. I am so glad to hear that she has met and superceded her wish. Also that prayer does work because we have been praying that this little girl does better and I am truly happy to hear that she is tumor free. God is soooo Good.
